Dont Worry About Tomorrow Even Feeds the Birds
Doubt and Unbelief. Two nasty, horrible words that we Believers should not have to deal with right? In today's world, with all of it's disasters, broken promises, diseases, heartaches and disappointments, no one would question you about getting down in the dumps.
But I'm here to tell you that you don't have to stay there. God did not design us to shoulder all these burdens on ourselves. That's the simple beauty of why Jesus came. He is there to take the load. He already did at the cross.
I'm reminded of the scriptures from Matthew 6:13-34 , and particularly verse 26. Here Jesus says, "Look at the birds! They don't worry about what to eat–they don't need to sow or reap or store up food –for your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are." This translation is taken from the living bible.
I have to tell you that anyone who knows me well, knows how much I love birds! Tiny ones, big ones, ones that sing, ones that screech, you get the picture. Well here in Illinois where I live, it is close to pushing 100 degrees and the little guys need all the help they can get to cool down, and I like to think of myself as a special "angel" here on earth assigned to caring for at least the ones that come to my back yard. So in the pic below, you are probably wondering what is that white stuff in my bird bath. It's ice, a little tip I found online about how to help your bird friends cool off.

Never mind the dying daffodil leaves next to it, but my sweet husband bought me this bird bath for Mother's Day because he knows how much joy I get from my birds! Correction: the birds that God sends to my yard to let me facilitate their growth and care.
So you don't think that this has turned to an ornithologist's page, I will return to speaking about the great weapon of worry that the enemy tries to send our way to see if we will take a bite and be hooked like a fish on my Dad's pole when he goes to the nearest pond.
To enable and empower you to not even nibble at the lure of worry or doubt, you need to have some scriptures at the ready to combat the latest onslaught the enemy tries to send your way. Here are a few of my favorites all from the NIV translation. By all means, study these out for yourself and decide which translation brings light and understanding better for you:
"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13
"Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding." Proverbs 3:5
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. Proverbs 3:5
God can do and will do marvelous, miraculous things that our minds have difficulty grasping at times and that verse helps me remember that I don't have to figure it all out. God does that for us so we can have peace in the middle of a storm. That's what He does for us. He gives us the strength to make it through whatever this life throws at us. We can't forget that bad stuff happens on this earth, but most importantly, we can't forget that this is not our home! This is not the end.
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?" John 14:1,2 NIV
It's going to take a paradigm shift of our view of the world to make it through this part victoriously. So again I will repeat that bad things do happen to good people sometimes out of sheer coincidence, bad health, misdiagnosis, or simply knowledge not discovered.
To help with the knowledge not discovered, I want to reveal to you that God is not hiding from you. He is waiting to be seen by us. Have you been looking for Him? Jesus says in Revelation 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. Can't you just see it? Your own personal communion. I would encourage you to go to the page on "What do I do now?" if you are wondering how to ensure you will have this meal with the Lord. I can unequivocally say it would be the best decision that you ever made.
Going up to this door will grant you access to the one (really three…Father, Son, Holy Ghost) that can help you to deal with all of the fiery darts the enemy sends your way. (Ephesians 6:16) He will lead you into victory over any thoughts of doubt or unbelief and give you an appreciation for the verse 2 Corinthians 2:14 where it speaks of Christ always leading leading us in triumph (that means victory my friend) and uses us to spread and make evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God EVERYWHERE! He yearns to rescue us if we just call on Him!
We all will get stronger and stronger the more we take the scriptures Romans 12: 1-2 to heart and study what does it mean to God to "be transformed (changed) by the renewing of your mind with His word." This is that paradigm shift I was referring to earlier. God has promised us many wonderful things. Are we going to let the nagging questions of doubt and unbelief steal them from us, or are we going to fight to have them, not only for ourselves, but for our families, friends, everyone we know? This sounds harder than it really is, it's not impossible. It's a stance of victory and triumph which we come to discover has already been bought for us through the cross of Jesus' sacrifice. The next thing to do is stand and rest on that anytime we hear those defeated voices of the enemy trying to scare us into believing we've been defeated. Not with Jesus on our side!
